Dave Meinhard is a former television broadcaster based in the U. S. Honors for his work include multiple EMMY's, among other awards. He has international experience, including covering U. S. military operations in Europe and the Middle East. His award-winning videography from South America of a volunteer medical team from Healing the Children changed his life. He and his family became a Healing the Children foster family for a young patient who spent years with them while being treated in the U. S. for extensive burns. After over 33 years in broadcasting, he now works for the non-profit Vattikuti Foundation, managing video, website, Fellowship and Scholarship programs. The Foundation is known and respected globally as a major source of funding for research and training in robotic surgery. In addition to being a husband, father and grandfather, he plays trumpet in two community concert bands and at church. As a hobby, Dave has composed music for instrument and choir. He also has been honored by the Red Cross with a lifesaving medal for rescuing two women from a kayak accident on a swollen river. Meinhard volunteers regularly at a homeless shelter and has donated over 90 units of blood to the Red Cross during his lifetime- with hopefully much more to come. He expects to earn his 12-gallon pin next year!
